Nigerian singer Kizz Daniel is encouraging his colleagues to shift their focus from chasing No. 1 spots on streaming charts. Highlighting discrepancies in streaming data across platforms, Kizz Daniel urged his fellow musicians to focus on perfecting their craft rather than solely pursuing high numbers on one service.
Kizz Daniel contrasts the pursuit of social media success with genuine artistic merit, highlighting the example of the relatively unknown (to some) four-time Grammy winner, Killer Mike.
In a subsequent post, Kizz Daniel explained that he isn’t opposed to using bots to increase streams, viewing it as a marketing strategy, but suggested it’s a tactic better suited for emerging artists.
